REASONS TO UPGRADE YOUR
STRAT WITH KINETIC PICKUPS
Handcrafted Kinetic Pickups are built around the art of shaping sound through true vintage character.
Our journey did not begin with the ambition to reinvent the industry, but with a simple goal—to restore a 1954 Strat pickup that had gone silent. Anyone who has chased that sound knows the urgency and emotion behind that pursuit.
Every pickup maker expresses their own interpretation of tone. Like giving the same ingredients to ten cooks, the outcome will always vary.
We offer our own vision for Strat pickups—rooted in musicality, balance, and feel—while recognizing that every player’s taste is unique.
We stand behind our work. If our pickups aren’t the right fit for your sound, we offer a full refund.
We believe great vintage pickups sound open, warm, balanced, and natural—allowing the instrument to “breathe” and project a full, expressive voice.
Through extensive testing and study of magnetic behavior, we’ve worked to recreate that unmistakable character—clear, dynamic, and alive. The result is a tone that feels immediate, musical, and responsive.
Authentic ’50s Strat pickups are celebrated not only for their tone but for their dynamic range and clarity.
Our designs emphasize articulation and responsiveness. Careful selection of magnets, winding patterns, and materials allows for exceptional string-to-string balance and expressive playing dynamics.
Kinetic Pickups are built for musicians who want their playing nuance to come through—making them ideal for expressive, professional performance.
Magnet quality plays a critical role in tone. Inferior modern magnets can restrict string vibration and produce dull or harsh results. We use specially manufactured magnets designed to replicate the composition and behavior of vintage originals. This helps achieve the characteristic frequency response and feel associated with classic pickups.
Each pickup is hand scatter-wound—a time-intensive process essential to achieving high-quality tone.
Unlike uniform machine winding, scatter winding introduces subtle variations that reduce capacitance, enhance clarity, and create a more complex harmonic response. The result is a tone that feels more open, dynamic, and musical.
Because this process is done by hand, every pickup has its own unique tonal fingerprint.
We have sourced rare 1960s USSR coil wire—positioned between 42 and 43 AWG—which delivers exceptional vintage character, including classic “twang,” “bottle,” and expressive tonal nuances.
Due to its rarity, pickups made with this wire are extremely limited.
We believe versatility should not require multiple guitars. By swapping loaded pickguards, a single Strat can deliver a wide range of tonal personalities.
This modular approach allows players to explore different sounds easily while preserving the originality of their instrument.
Kinetic Pickups are designed for players who value tone, feel, and expression. From warm vintage blues to aggressive modern sounds, they offer a wide tonal palette with an immediate “wow” factor.
We offer multiple wire options to suit different tonal preferences:
  • 42 AWG – The classic choice. Balanced, warm, and articulate with clear highs and rich mids. Ideal for traditional Strat tones.
  • 43 AWG – Higher output with stronger midrange and a more focused, modern edge. Great for overdrive and cutting through a mix.
  • 41 AWG – Lower output with exceptional clarity and wide dynamics. Produces a full, airy tone with strong lows and sparkling highs
– perfect for neck positions and clean playing.
We pay meticulous attention to every detail—from component selection to final assembly.
Our pickups are designed as complete systems rather than individual parts, ensuring optimal performance and visual harmony. Clean wiring and thoughtful layout are essential part of our approach — because what looks accurate generally sounds right.
We use durable, high-quality components, including long-lasting switches and pots. Wherever possible, we incorporate salvaged vintage wire and caps from the 1960s—not only for its authentic appearance but for its contribution to true vintage tone.
Our aim is simple: to capture the sound and feel of classic pickups as faithfully as possible.
Using unexpectedly salvaged 42 AWG vintage wire and drawing from audiophile experience, the restoration produced remarkable results. What began as a one-time repair evolved into a passion—experimenting, refining, and sharing great tone with fellow players.
Over time, we realized we could offer something genuinely special to the guitar community. Inspired by the legendary 1954 Fender single coils, we developed pickups with authentic vintage voicing—warm, open, and rich in articulation.
