THE STORY BEHIND THESE PICKUPS
Having previously owned a gorgeous 1965 Gibson ES-125 TCD. Later on, after crafting my own Strat and Tele single-coils and humbuckers, I couldn't stop thinking about how incredible those old P90s sounded. I decided to channel that vintage Gibson magic and develop my own take on that iconic pickup design.
I prefer lightweight guitars to accommodate longer, more comfortable practice sessions. We addressed the typical bulk and weight of P90 pickups by utilizing a thinner 0,060 mm coil wire. We cut the weight and cranked the output. This hotter design interacts beautifully with overdriven amplifiers and distortion pedals.
Prepare to lose yourself for hours the same as me, as you discover the fresh, inspiring tones of this exceptional P90 set.
Turn your guitar into an absolute monster with these P90s! Unleash groundbreaking, hot voices that are hungry for shredding and technically challenging licks. This package perfectly balances violent, raw power with classic, warm vintage musicality.
VINTAGE SOVIET 1960s STOCKPILES
This is the part that makes the limited runs genuinely limited. Sourced from Soviet stockpiles from the 1960s, coil wires 0,060 mm (43 AWG), it provides a character that modern equivalents don't fully replicate. The insulation is different. The copper has a different grain structure from how it was drawn and processed decades ago. The result is a tone that's impossible to fully measure but immediately recognizable once you've heard it.
The classic twang is there, the bottle-like bloom, the kind of tonal texture that players describe and struggle to define. It's in the way notes decay, the way a chord hangs in the air slightly longer than you expect, with more harmonic detail hanging on in the fade. It's in the way single notes respond, the way a bend or vibrato seems to carry more information, more texture, more of the instrument's actual voice.
The twang isn't just about brightness or attack. It's about how the note responds when you dig in, how it has that slightly compressed quality that makes overdriven tones feel singing rather than harsh. The bottle-like bloom is how the sound seems to open up as it sustains, as if the note is finding more room to exist in the air. These are qualities that describe experience rather than measurements, but they're real and they're consistent.
Because the supply is finite, the pickups wound with these wires are a short run. If that's what you're after, you know what to do. And if you're not sure, you should try to find out. Once you hear what this wire does, you'll understand why people talk about it the way they do.
Combined with vintage 1960s lead wires and specially manufactured magnets that recreate the original magnetic field, these pickups produce wonders.
This isn't some mass-produced recreation with marketing hype attached. This is the real deal, and we guarantee this model will give you the most authentic vintage tone imaginable.

THE CHARACTER THAT DEFINES YOUR SOUND
We paid significant attention to sound quality because we genuinely love the pickups of the past.
Here's the problem with cheap modern magnets. They provide harsh sounds and unappealing high-end frequencies. They don't let the strings vibrate freely or breathe. We use special order magnets that replicate the chemical metal fusion found in vintage pickups, manufactured at extra expense.
The right amount of wire on a coil is crucial. Modern pickups tend to overwind coils for greater output, but this reduces high-end clarity. Hotter pickups provide better response and make playing easier. But they have increased impedance which acts as a low-pass filter, reducing treble response and compressing your sound.
Vintage pickups have lower output because they have fewer turns of wire. That lower impedance produces a cleaner, more dynamic sound with greater touch sensitivity. This is the defining characteristic of vintage tone. This is the key to that magic you're searching for.
Kinetic Pickups produce output similar to antique models, offering authentic sound as close as possible while providing excellent playability.

Ultra-Vintage P90 Set

Retro Tone Charm
1960s, 43 AWG Coil Wire, Black
  • Thinner 43AWG for the Neck 12.5k resistance, 2.8 Henry inductance
  • Thinner 43AWG for the Bridge 13.2k resistance, 3.3 Henry inductance
ULTRA-VINTAGE P90 SET FEATURES:
As the 0,050 mm (43AWG) wire is much thinner, making it easy to achieve extremely high DC resistance numbers. This allows more turns on a bobbin, greatly increasing output while maintaining a compact physical profile.
43 AWG — More output, stronger midrange, a harder edge. Cuts through a band mix. Works well with overdrive without getting woolly. The extra output means less chain noise and more direct signal, which matters when you're competing with drums and bass for sonic space. The midrange push means your guitar sits higher in the mix without getting harsh, and the harder edge means overdrive responds more consistently, the pickup drives the amp rather than getting lost in the noise floor. If you're playing rock, if you're playing in a band context, if you want your guitar to lead rather than support, this is worth trying.
It’s the best choice for creating "hot" pickups without sacrificing clarity.
HOTTER TONE
P90s offer this incredible blend of warmth and bite. Plenty of mid-range brightness and that magical "spank" that makes them perfect for bluesy lead lines. You get the shimmery, sparkling nature of regular single-coils combined with the fuller, thicker, fatter output of humbuckers. When you dig into distortion, these pickups have that beautiful grit that keeps you from ever sounding thin or weak.
